Vision & Mission
Vision
We will lead families into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Mission
We will strengthen individuals to build healthy families.
Conviction
The church has been too content to let the government and states do the heavy-lifting work for widows and orphans. However, God did not call the state to provide this ministry service. He called the church to do it.
Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.
James 1:27
Our commitment is to put more energy into creating a healthy community than we do in creating a healthy church. We trust God in growing His church. We will run after every broken family we can get to and lead them to Jesus if they will allow us.
DCF receives over a thousand hotline calls a day for help with hurting families in the Circuit-1 area. When they investigate and identify a family in need, they call us first and give us 120 days to daily support these families and invite them toward a better path.
Values
Christ at the Center
Christ is our ultimate standard, first place, and final authority.
I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
John 15:5
We will…
- Spend time with the Word of God daily.
- Bring honor and glory to Christ in everything we do.
- Acknowledge God is at work creating a masterpiece in every individual we encounter, and treat them accordingly.
- Humbly surrender our needs and wants, to meet the needs and wants of others.
Spirit-Led
Christ is our ultimate standard, first place, and final authority.
So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
Galatians 5:16
We will…
- Start every meeting with prayer and pray without ceasing.
- Not depend on our own understanding but will seek His will in all we do.
- Give thanks in all circumstances.
- Do all things without complaining or arguing.
- Actively seek to grow in the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
- Live with moment-by-moment awareness and expectation that God is at work within us.
Encouraging
We inspire others to become what God created them to be.
Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
Colossians 4:5-6
We will…
- Choose one person a week to intentionally encourage and pray for.
- Filter our speech making sure each word is a gift “from God” to the listener.
- Express love in all circumstances.
- Be devoted to others with brotherly affection.
- Share hard truths with grace.
- Celebrate small and large wins.
Excellence
We deliver out of our best effort every day because our work is an act of worship.
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
1 Corinthians 15:58
We will…
- Work as though Jesus is going to show up.
- Intentionally plan, communicate, and execute.
- Commit to the highest levels of quality and greatness.
- Consistently seek collaboration and partnership for the best possible outcomes.
- Always be a student, pursuing education and training to develop expertise.
- Schedule times of rest and refreshment to avoid burnout.
